WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of about 25 people who meet every first Monday in the month generally from 2.00 until 3.30 pm in the Methodist Church Coffee Lounge, North Street, Barrow upon Soar
WHAT DO WE DO?
We offer fun and friendship and a listening service when required. There is often a speaker at the monthly meeting and time to socialize with fellow members who are at the different stages of bereavement. We also organise outings to places of interest and enjoy meals out. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends
ABOUT THE GROUP
The Bereavement Support Group was started in 2006 and held its first meeting in September of that year when four people enjoyed a chat and refreshments with the volunteer helpers. From these early beginnings we have now grown to some 25 members. The group is run by volunteers and membership is free.
We have a programme of speakers for the year and they will cover topics ranging from travel to a royal garden party. There will be a demonstration of crafts and an opportunity to hear about the work of our own Member of Parliament. We shall also have an outing in the Spring and the Summer and a Christmas meal. Look out for a copy of our programme in the Library, Health Centre and local churches.
We welcome new members to come along to our monthly get-togethers - both men and women, or contact us:
